Bemidji was a bulls-eye as a parade of 36 fast new fighters roared in over the Municipal Airport during a three-hour period in a practice exercise for the Ground Observer Corps. The fighters came in at grass clipping altitudes intended to baffle radar, but ground observers tracked every single one into Bemidji. (Oct 29, 1956)
