George Russells Sell Farm After Forty Plus Years, Oct 5, 1974

After 42 years of living on the same farm, sharing the same seasonal workload, Mr. and Mrs. George Russell, Sr., decided they might be missing out on the warmer weather of California. They decided to sell everything and make Santa Ana, California, their retirement home. Six children, now grown with families, trace their roots to this closely-knit homestead near Cass Lake. Together they built a conservative home in 1943, while living in a nearby log cabin. Two brothers from St. Cloud bought the property and a huge auction was held at the farm.
