The first harness maker to open up for business in Bemidji was Frank J. Longcoy, who came here in the fall of 1895, and has grown from a small one-man shop to an up-to-date establishment employing four men with the good prospect of an increase in the spring. Mr. Longcoy came here from Forest River and established the first harness shop in the city in the old Willit’s building until fall of 1902, when he moved into the building he now occupies in order to accommodate his increasing business.
