James Noonan (1910)

James Noonen was run over last night by a Great Northern train and decapitated.  The accident occurred about 200 feet east of the depot and a short distance from the water tank.  It is thought that Noonen went to sleep on the track. He had been running a camp for Sam Simpson at Bena and was in town for the day. No thought of robbery is connected with the accident as $35 in money and a gold watch was found on the body.  It is believed to be either a case of suicide or accident.  Coroner Ibertson telegraphed to notify relatives.  There will be no inquest.  (Bemidji Pioneer, June 1910)
