This house was not listed in 1911-1912 city directory or on the 1920 census. The first residents that I located were the Henry Arnold Toensing family.
H. A. Toensing, right hand man at Carlson’s Variety Store, moved his family this week from 1219 Park avenue to the house on the corner of 13th and Minnesota avenue, where they will make their residence. Ladies Aide at home of Mrs. Toensing (1922) Mrs. Toensing and her daughters were very active in the Trinity Lutheran Church.
H. Arnold Toensing (1924-25) (1927-1928) Daughters Beatrice and Anna. Beatrice was an assistant to R. E. Richardson, the photographer. Mr. Toensing came to Bemidji from St. Paul and appears to have moved back to St. Paul by 1930.
Geo. C. Baxter, wife Lottie (1934-35) (1942) Salesman for the Williams Hardware Co. They moved to 305 15th Street by 1946.
