This was the site of Bemidji’s Light and Water Plant (1904)

In 1908, the steel water tower at the end of 3rd Street was built along side of Warfield’s light and water plant.

The current building was built about 1940.

Bemidji Distributing Co. storage Grain Belt Beer and Olympia Beverages (1970) (1974) Bemidji Distributing asked for a lot variance in 1974. Added an addition to the rear of the building for storage and for loading trucks for the company. (1974)

Bemidji Distributing Co. distributed Grain Belt beer in Bemidji since 1933. In 1975, they celebrated their 42th year in the business. They were one of the oldest wholesalers in Minnesota and the oldest in Bemidji. In April 1974, they introduced Olympia beer in Bemidji. The company thanked its friends for its loyalty to the company. Signed by Cort Langdon, Pat Kirt, Chuck Trog, Glen Bridgeford, Darrel Lauderbaugh, Walt Rucinski, Ron Coons, Chet Wilander, Dave Sievers, Mel Christenson, Jim Kilek and Sandy Soboy.

Honest Oly’s Used Can and Bottle Lot was at the Olympia Recycling Center on the 305 Park Ave. property in 1975.

Bicentennial pledge to community to buy any and all crushed aluminum cans returned to the Recycling Center for 15 cents a pound.

A break-in at the Grain Belt warehouse on June 14, 1977 Several beer cans were found 100 yards from the warehouse that reportedly belonged to the burglars as well as a length of metal pipe.

The Joseph Schlitz brewing Company was appointed the wholesaler for its Schlitz and Old Milwaukee products in Nov 1977.

Mark Haluptzok Restaurant (T. Juan’s) Macho Nachos! The restaurant was closed in November 2009.

Building sat empty for over ten years until remodeled and opened as the Hair Affair Salon and Spa in 2023,
