309 Fifteenth Street

This home was reportedly built in 1919, which makes sense judging by its architectural style. However, it was not listed in any of the city directories until 1946 when it was listed as vacant. Had it just been rebuilt? Remodeled?

In 1953, it was occupied as a multi-dwelling with residents Joseph B. Karels, Courtland Kisser, Glen Olson, John L. Hartman, Rodney Anfenson, Ervin Eltten, Alice J. Johnson.

In 1956: Thos Lapp, Dale Skinner, Rodger Bloomquist, Nolan Rindfleisch.

It was listed as an apartment complex from then on. It is currently a five-plex building with one bedroom apartments. I would guess many teachers lived there over the years because of its proximity to the high school and also to Dave’s Pizza!
