To the best of my knowledge, 1119 was a family home and 1121 was an apartment house since the 1930s. Arvid Carlson and his wife Emma lived at 1119 in the 1930s. Carlson owned and operated a variety store from 1912-1927 and then operated a hardware store in Bemidji. He was listed in Who’s Who in Minnesota in 1945. The large building next door has always been an apartment complex. Ruth Brune, Calvin & Dorothy McClintock and Clara Schuster lived there in the 1930s. All were teachers at Bemidji State College. In 1946, the house at 1119 belonged to Roland W. Henrionnet and the apartments next door were known as the Henrionnet Apartments. From 1951-1970, at least, the small house was the home of Wm. J. Wilson, asst postmaster, and his wife Edna. The apartments next door at 1121 were listed as the Wilson Apartments from 1951 to at least 1989. The buildings changed ownership in 2004 for a tidy sum.
